My Values
Traffic Safety Now - How many more people have to get hurt on our roads before City Hall wakes up?
Repave Our Roads - "bumpbumpbumpbumpbump" ... That's the sound of driving in this neighborhood. Our streets can't wait until 2027 for a repaving.
Slumlords Begone! - Landlords neglect their properties but keep raising rents. I will ensure the profiteers in our community maintain their properties.
Help Seniors Now - I will increase City outreach to aging retirees to better serve their needs, and will rally a local volunteer corps to serve our seniors.
Fix Our Underperforming Public Schools - I'm not running for school board, but I will use my time to collaborate with SCUSD and FCUSD to reduce student absenteeism and increase the declining student performance rates at the 4 local public schools in our district.
Renter Protections - We need rent control, vacancy penalties, and tenant unions. Your hard-earned paycheck shouldn't be wiped out to enrich rent-seeking interests.
Affordable Housing - Increase the housing supply by building affordable units on the numerous vacant lots around our district.
Our Police - We must separate Rancho PD from the County Sheriff. Our cops should be our cops, and accountable to us alone. We deserve better!
Mobile Home Justice - We have five mobile home parks in our district, and they get no love or attention from the City. I'm running to end that.
Budget Rideshare - Partner with local entities to subsidize pay-as-you-drive rideshare. Hop in a nearby car and go get the groceries you need, pick your kid up, etc. Then take the car back, pay a fair amount, and let someone else use it.
A Better City Hall - Fix the brain drain and turnover at City Hall. Our City workers should be motivated, competent, well-paid, and satisfied. It begins with organizing them so they can fight for themselves.
Help Our Furry Friends - The local animal shelters are overcrowded and understaffed, our pet population is unfixed and unvaccinated, and the waits are too long for affordable pet care. A City of our size needs its own shelter where we can begin to creatively tackle these issues.
Neighborhood Beautification - Expand existing City programs to stop the worsening neighborhood blight, and increase utilization of these programs.
End "Contract City" - Successful cities of our size (80k residents and growing) don't outsource so many jobs to private interests with no skin in the game. We need to hire dedicated, long-term City workers to end the outsourcing experiment.
If you live in the green area, your vote counts in November!
